I’m usually hesitant when it comes to publishing anything Russian leadership (or those who proport to be leadership) says because I don’t like amplifying their narratives: there are already so many in the West doing that, and at no cost to Russia or Putin’s circle of criminals.
Let’s make something clear: analysts who know Russia well and its system do not believe that Medvedev has any power whatsoever. He probably posts this vitriole because he must keep relevant for the powers that be. Falling out of favour with the Kremlin simply means no more access to benefits, be they financial or otherwise. Some analysts believe that Medvedev is much more useful for Western domestic audiences as a foil to Putin: if you don’t come to terms with Putin, you could get HIM.
