Örnek: A national Crimean Tatar ornament, Ukrainian Art History
The Örnek contains small elements combined into a composition, mainly of a plant and geometric nature. Interestingly, the ornament uses almost everywhere – on clothes, shoes, jewelry, ceramic and metal dishes, wooden products, furniture decoration, and carpets.
The decorative art of the Crimean Tatars peaked during the Crimean Khanate in the second half of the 15th century. Until the end of the 18th century. In the middle of the last century, Stalin's brutal deportation (1944) deprived the entire nation of the ethnocultural environment
Now Örnek ornament is used in ceramics (Rustem Skybin, Marina Kurukchi, Mamut Churlu, Eldar Husenov), carpet weaving (Mamut Churlu, Iryna Teslenko), artistic panels (Gulnara Neglyadeno, Mamut Churlu, Yulia Tulupova) and glass painting (Zera Ablyazisova, Afize Yusuf-kyzy).
In 2021, Örnek and its knowledge were inscribed in the @UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists. Here is the work of master weaver and embroiderer Adaviye Efendiyeva (1920) who died during the deportation in 1944.
