Left unstated: the US interest in conducting this war. Sorry, I don’t believe the fairy tale about defending Ukraine’s non existent democracy. And I disagree that escalation can’t or won’t happen. Imo there is no way the western powers “win” this fight. My only concern is how badly we lose. I say this not as a hater of America, but as a student of history.
